The Saturday Night Game was a conundrum as Beckett never looked better, unlike Daisuke the evening before.

In the 7 Red Sox Themed Pubs on The Island of Manhattan, spanning from Harlem to Greenwich and East Villages, there was intense interest in this series. Mets Fans also came to one pub in particular, namely "Professor Thom's" at 219 2nd Avenue in The East Village. One of the owners is Governor of Red Sox Nation-New York & is Native to Alston-Brighton.

We had no NESN feed except for the Pre Game and Post Game Shows.
So we watched the NY Mets TV Feed, called SNY, who called it objectively, making "The Nation" in NYC feel rather comfortable. Ron Darling for instance, grew up in Worcester and was a Catholic HS Rival of Rich Gedman from the same region. Gary Cohen from Queens, a Graduate of Dartmouth University, was once the Radio Play By Play man for Pawtucket in 1987. Keith Hernandez gave objective analysis of Hitters in the Games. Direction of the Games was Top Notch under Bill Webb, Lead Director on both SNY & FOX.

Replay from SNY on the Omir Santos Homer showed to be a home run. I viewed a NESN Replay on line the next day & Orsillo's Call was the same as Cohen's Call. My yell was "Try that in Citi Field, Santos, you stiff." Crazy thing but 3 evenings later, Santos homered in the tough park called Citi Field.

Unfortunately, the Santos Homer was a harbringer of things to come for Jonathan Papelbon, which sadly came true with Red Sox-Angels in the ALDS vs Angels.

BTW, Mets Fans, who UNLIKE Yankees Fans, actually appreciate the nuances of The Game. Their HATRED of The Yankees, their "Fans" and anything to do with George Steinbrenner, know no bounds. A poll of Mets Fans at Professor Thom's, shows that their primary #2 Team to follow is The Red Sox. These fans also despise the Mets Ownership, who never met a Ponzi Scheme, they didn't like. The Mets Fans do appreciate John Henry, Tom Werner(Born on The Upper East Side of Manhattan) & to a lesser extent, Larry Lucchino. I originally had the Mets as my primary team until June 29th, 1997, when I made my 1st Pilgramage to Fenway Park, at a 5:05PM Game, a Saturday, with Mo Vaughn on the 60 Day DL, with the Red Sox losing 6-0 to the Tigers. Wayback Wadsin was in that game, with me in a Knights of Columbus contingent from Queens, in association with a Council in Arlington, while seated in Outfield Grandstand 7.

Funny, but on the night of the Santos Replay Homer, I let loose with a chant of "F--- The Wilpons"(Mets Ownership). Funny, that while Red Sox Fans joined the chant, Mets Fans joined that chant as well.

Remembering May 17th, 2008 day game vs Brewers, when Jeff Suppan was, unaided by Dave Duncan, getting clobbered with Papi putting one out onto Lansdowne Street, a chant of "We Want Gagne-No You Don't", rolled all over Fenway Park.

It was the most fun I had at a Game in a long time.
